There isn’t a guarantee that all video recorder can be used with all cameras. DVRs need analog cameras while NVRs utilize I.P. cameras However, the compatibility issue goes beyond the difference. Certain NVR systems are, as I mentioned are compatible with I.P. cameras only with certain brands.
