Closeup photography doesn’t require a lot of resolutions. It is more benefited by excellent colors and low light performance. Resolution isn’t really important and a lens sensor processing combination at 720p can beat low-cost 1080p webcams. And in cases where bandwidth isn’t ideal the 720p model will also win.
