Thus sailing history was made By the yacht America, the first winner of what we now call America’s Cup.
A lot of water under many keels later, and we are now at the 37th running of the longest continuously held sporting competition.
It is a pride for any country to win and compete in the challenge. The trophy was held for over 130 years by yacht clubs in the USA, and in 1983 Australia II wrested it away. Time to bring it back!
